This special evening looks at how opera, soul and gospel music are connected. It will take us from Puccini and Aretha Franklin to Verdi and Etta James, Bellini and Nina Simone, and from spirituals and gospel songs that really show how deep opera can be. Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, the conductor, will lead the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, with three amazing singers who are making their first appearances at The Grange Festival. Innocent Masuku, a tenor from South Africa who was a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, really won hearts with his version of Nessun Dorma. He’s joined by Melody Wilson, an American mezzo-soprano who has recently sung with The Metropolitan Opera Seattle Opera and Carnegie Hall. And to finish off the group, we have Jah’Mila, a Juno-nominated soul and reggae singer from Jamaica and Canada. Tickets are now available for £18 and you can book them now to get a place at this night you won’t forget!Read More
